He coached the Boston Celtics basketball team to nine NBA championships, and was either general manager or team president for another seven titles. He revolutionised the world of sports, hiring Bill Russell as the first black head coach in any sport. He also introduced the world to such sports legends as Larry Bird, John Havlicek, and the great Russell himself. Red Aurebach was 89 at the time of his death...
